Women's Committee June Meeting
George Floyd. Breonna Taylor. Ahmaud Arbery. Robert Fuller. So many more. We have lost too many Black Americans to violent and complicit police, white supremacists, bigotry, and ignorance. In a system that has existed without any moral responsibility for far too long, we need to stand up and do something.
Please join LACYD Women's Committee on Monday, June 29th at 7:00 pm for a frank discussion on how to educate ourselves, reflect on our privileges, and be active warriors in the fight for racial justice.
It won't be an easy conversation... but it's one that is long overdue. We would like for you to read/watch at least one of the following resources before attending, to help us guide the conversation:
- The Anti-Racist Resource Guide
- "Yes, We Mean Literally Abolish the Police"
- Stay Woke: The Black Lives Matter Movement Documentary
- How White Feminists Oppress Black Women: When Feminism Functions as White Supremacy
To RSVP, please email [email protected]. We will provide you with the Zoom link at that time.
